Every year by May 31, per our bylaws, Prairie Land Electric Cooperative hosts an annual meeting open to all our members. At the meeting, we look back at how we did over the past year, share important updates, and take care of any other co-op business that comes up—we’ll review and approve last year’s meeting minutes, go over the financial report from the past year, announce the results of our trustee elections, discuss any bylaw changes, and open the floor to any other topics members bring forward. Think of the Annual Meeting as the co-op family reunion!
When you receive electric service from Prairie Land Electric, you’re not just a customer—you’re a member and an owner. That means you have a voice in how your cooperative is run. You help elect the board that represents you. By voting, you take part in the decisions that affect your community. That’s what makes electric cooperatives different—we’re owned and guided by the people we serve. This meeting is another venue to exercise your membership.
